Laz Romankiw - A Primer

At the cross section of hopeful humor and operational realism lies a single man - Laz Romankiw (he/him).

  • Laz was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was an avid gamer and digital citizen, making more friends online than in person as a general rule. As a child of the desert and a country boy, he always dreamed of something bigger, something greener, and something rainier.

  • After some time spent at the University of New Mexico, Laz took a bit of a break from school - Not only for his mental health but to truly reflect on what it means to be college-educated and to pursue an education in a field that matters to him. Laz returned to school at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership and Project Management in 2016, and received his Bachelors of Arts in 2022.

  • Laz started his career in 2010 at Starbucks Coffee Company as a barista. As he grew into an adult, he grew in roles and responsibilities at Starbucks store manager to regional program manager.

Laz is currently working as a program manager for the City of Portland and continuing his voiceover career.

  • Laz currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his best friend and their sweet dog. He pursues the cuter, nerdier things in life that still challenge his acting and project management skills, such as cooperative board games and Dungeons & Dragons. He loves staring outside at the fog rolling in over the hills and sipping on coffee at a coffee shop with his wide cast of supporting characters in his life.

Who is he?

From the Desert to the Land of Mist and Coffee, Laz has professional experiences that stretch across multiple regions, markets, and industries - both private and public sector. He has always had a penchant for helping others succeed, whether that was in his World of Warcraft guild or school projects, which translated to his fascination with acting and transformational leadership as an adult. He is humor-forward and lighthearted, dedicated to ensuring any life he touches is better off than before.
